About BICA
BICA is a 150-hectare integrated rehabilitation, conservation agriculture, vocational training and technology centre in Binga, Zimbabwe, helping vulnerable people and communities build skills, livelihoods and sustainable futures.
Binga Institute of Conservative Agriculture (BICA) is a 150-hectare social-impact and skills development institution in Binga, Zimbabwe, established by Takura Trust. BICA integrates rehabilitation, elderly care, conservation agriculture, horticulture through Harvest of Hope, vocational training, technology, renewable energy, agro-processing and enterprise development to create sustainable pathways from vulnerability to skills, livelihoods and independence.
Our goal is that no one relapses after BICA.We work toward it by treating the whole life: a long stay, a trade, an income, a community and aftercare that never ends.
If anyone does slip, the door is open.No shame, no new waiting list, no penalty for coming back.
We publish what happens.Recovery rates at 12, 24 and 60 months will be public, so you can judge us on evidence.

Every course grows in three rings
Like a baobab, learning is added ring by ring. Every Academy course has a 6-month, a 12-month and a 24-month track. The longer track includes everything inside it.
The foundation and core skills, with supervised practice.
Advanced skills and production work for real customers.
Mastery, supervision and an apprenticeship that can lead a team.
Elderly people who live alone should not be alone when something goes wrong
On campus, Golden Years gives permanent, dignified care. At home, Companion sends a trained caregiver every week, calls between visits and repairs what makes a house unsafe. Relatives abroad can see each visit on a family dashboard.
"Someone will come."
That is the promise a family needs to hear. Every visit is recorded, so it can be shown, not just said.
Land that pays for the care
BICA sits on a 150-hectare estate in Binga. About 100 hectares are for irrigated horticulture under Harvest of Hope, and the estate teaches conservation agriculture that protects soil and water. The work on the land is part of the programme, and its produce is meant to help fund it.
Training that leads to work
Academy graduates leave with a certificate anyone can verify by scanning its QR code. Many go on to RootWorks, businesses owned by graduates, each training the next person.
Rehabilitation centres: send us the next chapter
You detoxify and stabilise. BICA provides what comes after: 12 to 24 months of work-based care, a trade, a job or a business, and aftercare to 60 months. We do not replace your centre. We make your clients' recovery last.
Not only Binga
The campus is in Binga District, but anyone in Zimbabwe can register or be referred, from any province. RootWorks satellites, regional referral points and, later, partner campuses across the region will carry the model further.
Projects you can support
Each project has a costed written proposal. Read it before you decide.
Anchor outreach and referral line with partner centres
A referral line and travel fund so rehabilitation centres can send anyone who has relapsed to Anchor without delay.
Read the proposalStart-up toolkits for 40 RootWorks graduates
A toolkit and a first-order guarantee so each graduate can start earning in the first month.
Read the proposalSix Golden Years cottages for elders who live alone
Six step-free cottages with a shared kitchen garden and a carer on call, for elders who have no one at home.
